What is ABC?
Folks that have worked sales know what ABC means. For those that don't know what it is, it means Always Be Closing. That is to be driving everything you are working on to a logical conclusion quickly; to close the deal—any deal, a sales deal, or getting your kids to do their chores willingly.
Like everything else we have covered, it is another unnatural skill that does not come easy for anyone. For some folks on the receiving end, they might have felt duped in the past by an aggressive closer. You know a car salesman getting to sign for something you can't afford. With everything, there is always a good and a bad. Let's focus on the good side of ABC.
Why ABC?
ABC is an art form with different approaches and methods, but it always results in the same outcome, which is making things happen. Learning it will result in a dramatic improvement in your life, a much happier life because things start magically happening around you. Sometimes the change you could make can be small and simple, like changing a minor nuanced in what you say to others. Going from saying "Let's get together sometime" to saying "Let's get together next Friday at 6:30PM." Folks with lower self-esteem will leave it open-ended, putting the other person in the driver's seat. Typically the other person is just as non-committal. So they never end up finding the time to get together. In comparison, the highly driven ABC folks will reach an agreement on the spot and have a lot more fun hanging out with good friends doing things.
Other times it takes more than language changes. Sometimes you need to get hands-on in making things happen. One needs to guide the person to the outcome they desire. For example, some folks get excited to use Hefe, yet they can't push the login button. Or they get stuck on something super simple because their brain stops. In this case, a closer is a trusted advisor that hand holds the person from start-to-finish. Step-by-step. Question-by-question. Whatever it takes to get it done without being pushy or crossing boundaries.
Nothing stops a closer.
Some of you are thinking right now, "Gawd, I can't do any of that!"
Facts versus emotions. You can't close because you haven't learned the art of closing. Part of your plan is to learn it. To practice it. Fall flat on your face and try it over and over again until you master it. As I mentioned before, there are countless resources out there providing all the information you need without spending a dime. Dan Lok, Jordan Belfort (Wolf of Wallstreet), Grant Cardone, and many more sales masters. They provide 90% of their knowledge for free. You can pay for that last 10% if you want. I don't recommend it, as the most significant parts of their material is the easiest part and was given for free.
Going Digital
Now for a select few of you are thinking, Nah, I am good as I am going all digital. I don't need to learn any of this closing people stuff. All I can say is you are in for a huge surprise; you have to 10x better. Some of you are. Most of you are not. It is not easy to close people virtually.
Let's move to Step 7. Fail Fast.
